鶹Ƶ's Christine Allen talks to CBC's Metro Morning about her book club for women in STEM
Christine Allen, a professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and the University of Toronto’s associate vice-president and vice-provost, strategic initiatives, on Tuesday – International Day of Women and Girls in Science – to talk about her book club aimed at supporting female students studying the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Allen told Metro Morning she started the Women in STEM Book Club, which focuses on books about leadership and empowerment, when she was interim dean of the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and was reading books about leadership.
“We’re reading books that are helping us grow as an individual. And it’s not just about the books that we’re reading. It’s about coming together and sharing our stories,” said Allen. “You just walk out feeling great.”
