Ken Derry receives 2023 3M National Teaching Fellowship Award

The University of Toronto Mississauga's Ken Derry has received a 2023 3M National Teaching Fellowship Award from the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. 

Derry, an associate professor, teaching stream, in the department of historical studies, has been teaching history of religion courses at 鶹Ƶ since his days as a graduate student. He joined 鶹Ƶ Mississauga in 2010.  

The 3M National Teaching Fellowship Awards honour 10 exceptional teachers in post-secondary education each year. Fiona Rawle, a professor of biology at 鶹Ƶ Mississauga,  in 2022. 

The announcement, published in  magazine, notes that Derry recognizes “that learning moves in multiple ways” and “has developed extensive pedagogical innovations, especially with respect to problem-based learning, learning through failure, and deliberate construction of inclusive learning spaces.”

In 2022, Derry won : a President’s Teaching Award.
