Deirdre Gomes and Giselle Arsenault named winners of the 2020 Advancement Rising Leader Awards
Giselle Arsenault, the University of Toronto’s associate director of global alumni engagement, and Deirdre Gomes, associate director, donor relations, at the Rotman School of Management, are this year’s recipients of the Advancement Rising Leader Award.
The honour recognizes staff who demonstrate great leadership potential, show a significant level of achievement, and support and inspire the people around them.
Working within the central Advancement office, Arsenault oversees initiatives that meet the needs of 鶹Ƶ alumni around the world and promote the university’s global impact and reputation. The citation for her award says Arsenault’s “calm, quiet competence, collaborative approach and positive contributions make her a valued colleague.”
At Rotman, Gomes collaborates with key stakeholders and senior leadership to engage alumni, friends and donors in a lifelong relationship with the school.The citation for her award describes Gomes as “a rising star who can strategically evaluate programs, identify gaps and suggest a bold and often innovative path forward to ensure we as advancement professionals are being responsive to our donors and alumni communities.”
